The Industry Leader in Public/Private Hospitality Projects
Stormont Hospitality Group (SHG) traces its roots to 1984, and has been responsible for developing more than $1 billion in premier hospitality projects, including more than 6,000 rooms and nearly 400,000 square feet of conference and meeting space.
The Stormont name has been associated with some of the most significant and successful public/private hospitality projects in the U.S. In many of the notable projects the Stormont organization completed, ownership developed a prominent hotel anchored to a first-class convention or conference facility. The funding for each project granted by the local municipality and/or university, in addition to other extensive support, enabled Stormont to create multifaceted hospitality developments whose real value is significantly above the actual private cost of the project.
SHG was originally founded in 2001 by equal partners Dick and Jim Stormont following the sale of affiliate Stormont Trice Corporation. In 2003, Noble Investment Group acquired the assets of SHG. After stints of serving on the executive teams of Noble and Grove Street Partners, Jim re-established SHG in 2012 to meet the market’s renewed demand for hotel development projects. This time around, with 100% ownership of the company and his former partner (and uncle) Dick Stormont sitting on SHG’s advisory board, Jim is well positioned to capitalize on his experience, relationships, and reputation, to reinvent this full-service hotel development, management and investment company.
